PROPER SCALE TIP - from John Howell
To check for proper scale of your buildings - a credit card is the right size for an adult figurene. If the house is too small, they can still be used in a landscape set off in the distance to create the proper illusion.

Shown here - wood bird house from craft store. The door is a little smaller than the credit card. This cabin would look perfect nestled among some young juniper bushes on a hill in the distance. Add a dirt path in front with a figure choping wood. Come up with a story - maybe he is the town hermit that keeps to himself. But the forest animals like him, so you can put a few miniature animals spread around watching him (deer, rabbits...)
