ENGINEER - Robert Triche
(President)
I first became interested in trains when I was 15. Like the majority of train hobbyists, I started out with HO. I was aware of the large scale trains, but with champagne taste on a beer budget, I stuck with HO. Finally built my first G scale layout in the yard just a couple years ago.
There is nothing more impressive than a large scale engine making its way through tunnels and pine trees in the yard. My goal is to fully automate the layout with computers. I see this club as being a great resource to learn how to advance my train expertise.
BRAKEMAN - John Howell
(Secretary)
My sister found a photo of me when I was 5 years old sitting in front of my first train set. My youngest son is now that old and I find myself using him as an excuse to play with trains again.
My real passion for trains in the garden is using them as a unique accent, not the focal point. Some people prefer trains with gardens in them, I prefer a garden with a train in it. As you get involved in the hobby you'll understand the difference. Best of all, there is always something new to learn.
Right now I'm taking some landscape design classes and also studying the electronic automation option for a train layout.

COAL SHOVELER - Julie Howell
(Web master/Newsletter/Johns sister)
I remember playing with trains my grandpa had in his basement. But my true love of trains came from "hoping box cars" on weekends during my Art College years in Minnesota.
My artistic interest in the hobby is the creation of miniature landscapes. Does anyone remember reading "The Borrowers" as a kid? I always believed there were "little people" living out there, hidden from my prying eyes. What better way to surprise the "Borrowers" in your garden than building a small town with a train station for them. G-Scale is actually the perfect size for them!

RAIL YARD GUARD - Wishbone
(Mascot)
I was a Hobo dog, just travelin' the highways and byways. Then I settled down at Countryside Water Gardens. I love to watch the trains go round and round and round. Sometimes it's fun to run off with one of the town-folk in my mouth. John will never find them.
Hey, I have my own web page too! WISHBONE
